Walk-a-Week - is finished!

A new one is planned...

Ann Howard, Diocesan President in Salisbury has walked the Wessex Ridgeway a trail running for 127 miles from Marlborough to Lyme Regis.  Coincidently, this crosses from one corner of our diocese to another, through Wiltshire and Dorset.

Our 1700+ members have been invited to seek sponsorship from friends and family for Ann's walk, raising funds for our many projects locally and overseas.

Rather than a simple ridgeway walk where you climb to the ridge then walk on the level the Wessex Ridgeway is something of a switchback.   From start to finish, taking in the downs and ups there will be around 17,000 feet of ascent (allowing for getting lost).

SO, we made £17,000 our fundraising target and so far have reached £10,000  Thank you

At 1st September 2014 we had raised almost £10,000

You can still support us by texting MUWK14 and either £2, £5 or £10  to 70070.

You will be given the opportunity to Gift Aid this amount too.

OR

You can give online:   www.my.give.net/salisburymu

We have allocated funds from Walk a Week to Away From It All paying for family holidays, to Mothers' Union work overseas and to set up a fund to prime new projects.

We are delighted that we are able to support both our existing passions and look ahead to developing new projects to support and nurture family life in Salisbury Diocese.

Walk-a-Week Events

The Wessex Ridgeway is rural - it doesn't pass through many centres of population.

Mothers' Union members are very active in our communities so we wanted to show what we are involved with along the route.  Each deanery hosted an event to showcase our work, involve other people and gave further opportunites to fund raise for ourselves and those with whom we work.

Please look at News and Events for more up-to-date information.  Images of the visit of our Worldwide President, Lynne Tembey, with us to celebrate Walk a Week are on the Home Page.
